Experiencing the Benefits of a Grateful Heart?
The beauty of summer in Colorado makes it hard not to feel grateful. Did you know science is finding that keeping a list of what you are grateful boosts better health and positive feelings. And! the people who kept a list were significantly more likely to make progress on their goal achievement over two months!
What’s your mind been thinking today? Your attention is like-a magnet. It draws to you more of the same. And you can change it in an instant by making a gratitude list.
Right now, ask your imagination for a number from 1-10 (with “10” being most) of how grateful you are at this moment? Does this number surprise you? After you experience this month’s meditation, ask for a second number from 1-10 of how-grateful-you are feeling and see what comes as you notice the state of your body and emotions now.
This month’s meditation will guide you through an inner experience of gratitude. Enjoy!

Written MEDITATION for Grateful Heart
(Have paper and pen)
As your eyelids gently close and-your inner vision easily-opens… you feel the-shift from an-external-view of the world-to an inner appreciation of who you are…?…As you imagine taking a deep cleansing breath in through your forehead and sensing it exhale all the way down through the soles of-your feet … your attention settles….
Notice…as you sense the state of your mind…the feeling in your body?… the essence of your soul?…
Your imagination brings you a number from 1-10 (10 being most) of your current level of gratitude and write it down
Taking a few deep breaths, you settle into even deeper relaxation
And as you do, your imagination flashes an image or word that represents your grateful heart (snap) Take a minute
As you receive this image/word, notice your feelings
Moving your attention into the center of it,
you receive a steady stream of awareness of all that you are gratefulpeople/places/opportunities/desires/whatever else comes
As you sense them, write them down and then return to closed eyes and receive more
Take a minute
Continuing to write whatever arrives you sense this grateful state of Mind
Your imagination gives you a number from 1-10 of how grateful you’re feeling now
As you receive this number, find this gratitude in your body noticing the color and texture of it
Immerse yourself in it-swim in it-play in it
You are a being of great depth and appreciation Someone who enjoys each moment of the day and night regardless of whats happening
Because it means you are alive! You feel your breath, the freedom of your body to move, the love in your heart that began with your birth for all of who you are and who you are becoming
Because life is an unfolding journey How Good it is!
