A Shiny, New Year… blank and ready to be written by you! Yes… YOU!
What if you give your full attention to create what you REALLY want this year… I know it’s a bit risky because it means exposing your deepest dreams… Some of us (including me) are shy about taking full responsibility for these things… we quiver with the thought… what if I give it my all and it doesn’t manifest… Ouch!
The busy mind chatters, “But, what if I have to give up something? But, what if I have to do something I don’t like or I don’t want to do? But, what if I put in this effort and nothing good comes out of it.”
Hmm, and yet… What if you never go for it? What if you never find out what’s possible because you didn’t move out of your comfort zone? What if you reach the end of this brand new year and you don’t know yourself any better than you did at the beginning of the year? What excitement will you miss if you don’t stretch? What peals of laughter won’t you hear if you avoid the comedy of errors that sometimes ensue when we try new things.
What if… What if… What if… this year…. you Play Full Out?
This summer, I set an intention to Play Full Out, Detached from the Outcome. Wow!… what a ride it has been as I’ve become more and more aware of the attachments that have kept me stuck. They weren’t bad things that slowed me… in fact, they were high-minded ideals like being “low maintenance,” “having integrity” and “being loved.”Yet, my fear of disrupting them, confused me and… I held back… until Now!
I extend my hand to you, to join me with a mutual pledge for 2012… to step out and claim what you really want… to risk finding out what’s been holding you back, and to know deep in your heart you deserve to have what you want.
You are ready or else you wouldn’t be reading this invitation… May this meditation tap your deepest wishes and expand your capacity to receive more than ever before…
Meditation for Playing Full-Out
As you gently close your eyes and look upward in a reflective gaze, you begin to notice your breathing… is it your chest rising with each breath or maybe your belly?… shallow or deep?… rapidly or slowly?
Noticing whatever pattern… follow your breath with your attention and settle into a deeper place in your body… as you naturally and easily become more aware of yourself from the inside out… with all your thoughts, your sensations, your feelings.
Taking a moment of silence, gently and naturally open to this inner space that is totally you… as your attention gently shifts to your heart… where you easily and steadily breath in through the front of your heart and exhale through the backside of your heart. Yes… breathing in and out through your heart.. a quickening happens.
Fully engaged in this heart space of true feeling and inherent love… your breathing opens a secret passageway… inward and downward… your attention spirals until you suddenly encounter… off in a side cave… the beautiful jewel of your true self… a gem that sparkles with vivid color and depth.
Sensing it… your attention is magnetically drawn into the center of this beautiful, shining jewel… hmm… it feels so good to sense your true inner beauty and goodness… who would have thunk it… with your humanity and all!
And you know this beauty is you… not because anyone has said so.. rather… because you feel it… like when you look into the eyes of a curious baby and sense the innocence… or you remember someone you love and feel tenderness… You know who you really are…
In this place of knowing… it gradually arrives… a sensing of your greatest wish for 2012… hmm… welcome it with tenderness and openness… even if it feels outlandish and impossible to you… Let it be as it is… even if your eyes tear up… or you feel resistance in your body… or questioning in your mind… Receive it as best as you can… releasing any temptation to tamper with your intuitive nature…
It’s okay… go ahead and let your greatest dream be known… I’m here with you holding my greatest wish too. Yes, I know it feels scary and risky and all that… yet, if we walk together… it’ll be easier… I see the best in you and you see the best in me… and before long… you’ll see the best in you and I’ll see the best in me…
And it feels so good to know, you and I can both shine full-out and the combination lights up the world ever more… as it’s meant to be…
